After some research, I discovered the Boker Plus (440C) Barlow.

Upon thorough research I discovered Boker's "secret" of keeping their prices low. Their Barlow was engineered in Germany, but built elsewhere. Their 440C steel is good. I have no reservation when it comes to buying one of these knives and have planned on buying one of these for quite some time. I won't hesitate to buy the little Barlow. I like the look and the utilitarian purpose of this "pocket tool". There, I said it. :p  ;)

Does anyone else like this pattern/steel arrangement?

Boker makes good stuff. I have Germany and Spain mfg mostly, all good. Good steel - C75 me thinks is most of my pocket stuff. Taiwan, they are nothing to disregard.

Pictures or it never happened! :)

Seriously, are you able to take any photos for us? In particular of the tangstamp?

Thanks Captain O. I learned my lesson the hard way with Boker. All I ever heard was that their three-pin Barlows were all bone handled only to find out that they also made a three-pin in Delrin or some such synthetic material. Now Taiwan. No more Boker for me.

If you go to Boker Plus Barlow on Pinterest, you can see Boker's current production Barlow there. Look for the Boker Plus on the blade's ricasso.

I've had good luck with Boker Plus modern design products as far as fit and finish and blade performance. So I have little doubt that the blade steel is good. If the fit and finish of the Barlow is good, then the knife is good.

We only talk knives, in Traditional. Not country of origin.

I've the Boker Plus Barlow and really like it. Good fit, finish, holds a good edge. Also like most of the other Boker Plus line especially the Tech Tool City 1. Don't care where they are made as long as they are good knives.

This is where my attitude lies... results. I would prefer that the knife be manufactured in Germany, but at the $25.00-$30.00 price point, I can't see such a price being within reason. AFAIK, this Boker Plus Barlow will be a good knife. There's nothing quite as comforting as a solidly built Barlow-pattern knife. It's a "comfort food" for knife enthusiasts. It works... on so many levels.

I like the looks of this knife.

I've been pleased with all the Boker Plus knives I've had, but didn't really like their Barlow and it's one of the very few knives I've returned (to the distributor). Here in the UK, it cost several times more than a Rough Rider Barlow (which are themselves several times more expensive here than in the US), and the RR Barlows I've had were better IMO.

Damn, son! I'm sorry to hear that the Government forces you to pay so much for your blades. I'm also very sad to hear about your experience with the Boker Plus Barlow. You're always welcome to come here from Mother England. This Old Yankee Tar would be happy to have you here!

I've been buying a bunch of the Boker Plus 3 1/4" Stockman's the last few months and really like them.

Great little knives for the price.
