What are my options for Griptilian scales other than Wilkins or Cuscadi? I am looking to get a set of grips for my 551, but don't really want to spend $200 on a set...

Cuscadi are like $118 US and you get to pick materials, textures, etc. Also Luke is a great guy to deal with and has about a 3 week turn around.

Love my Cuscadi aero CF. Stellar craftsmanship for a bit over $100

Oh well $100 isn't too bad at all then. I thought they were double that for some reason. I might have to give them a closer look.... My 551 has become my favorite outdoor folder.

Yeah Cuscadi scales are around $100 give or take.
You can get Aluminum scales from Blade HQ for $80.

Still, you could get another Griptilian for $100. I would love a set of Cuscadi scales but I would rather have two Grips than one fancy Grip. Isn't the blade metal supposed to be the expensive part? That being said, that aero cf looks really cool. Do they give you options for backspacers too?

I requested a racing green colored one, in a different pattern and he gave that to me. So why not.
I got them because I thought my M4 grip with it's awesome steel, would be better paired with some nice scales. I wouldn't have gotten scales if it wasn't a LE M4 grip.

I'd not really a knife "collector", but rather a knife user, so the idea of having 2 knives that aren't as much of a pleasure to own is not as appealing as having one knife that is a real pleasure to use and own. That's just me though... Any idea on the turnaround from Cuscadi?

Couple weeks, depending if shipping goes smoothly.

Total I got 168 of 300 on that blade! Ha! Yeah you cant go wrong with Cuscadi or Wilkins! They both make a fine product!

I too am a user. I prefer to make my M2/M4/M390 knives personal...one of a kind.
Here's a few of mine. My work horse Ritter is the first pic.
