Does anyone know of any knife makers willing to provide an aftermarket heat treat job for factory blades?

PS. -I put this in the wrong forum by mistake. Sorry.

I had Paul Bos do a heat treat on a Sebenza blade; he is semi-retired now, so I don't know if he is still doing that. I believe Phil Wilson will do it, and I'm sure there are others.

I believe Mr Wilson is swamped for now. He was my first choice. I imagine it could be a reasonably lucrative sideline from forum word-of-mouth alone.

I've heard Phil Wilson does it. Sounds like he is swamped.

If it were I, I'd want a total professional like Phil to do it. Someone with equipment, not only to heat treat it and measure the resulting hardness, but with the skill and knowledge to do it right.

The Bos shop is still going strong. See the Buck link in theCount's post above. I'm sure any of the companies he listed will happily anneal and re-HT a blade for you. If the blade is coated I imagine they would ask you to strip it down to bare steel first.

I have six at Tx.Knifemakers.Its only 5.50 per blade which is more than reasonable.Buck/Bos is a great deal if you have 20 blades to send and sounds faster than TKS.They(TKS) only heat treat on tues and dont start shipping back until the following tues if i understood the info correctly. They had me send in a work order and include my C.C. info which i wasnt crazy about doing.Im hopeful all works out well.
