Hi all, kinda weird posting after all this time although I'm a regular reader (lurker) and am really grateful for all the help and information provided by the regular posters and contributors to BFC. I'm wondering if someone can share the sources they've used to obtain aftermarket or replacement knife parts (other than the manufacturer).

Specifically, I'd like to replace the stock thumb stud on my Bradley Alias II with dual thumb studs. I didn't turn up much searching on Google and here at BFC except for this post by Stephen Tolar stating that he replaced the thumb stud and spacers for his Alias with aftermarket items. I'd really appreciate it if any member (or Mr Tolar himself) could provide some information on where/how to obtain aftermarket parts. Does the Alias 'flatter' the Sebenza enough that it could use the same dual thumb studs, ie the 'double thumblug' sold as a Sebenza accessory at the CRK site?

Thanks.

Tony

CRK doesn't sell parts, except clips and buttcaps. They will install thumbstuds, but only on their own knives.

STR does a lot of mods and upgrades, so he probably knows where to get parts. If he doesn't pop in here, try asking on his forum, STR's Backyard KnifeWorks.

Thanks for the replies. I forgot that the Alias used a conical drill hole so that the thumb stud retention screw would fit flush against the the blade. I suppose I can still replace the single with dual thumb studs, I just need to be careful of dimensions if I don't get a custom-fitted replacement. Thanks again though; I'll see if I can dig up something at knifekits.com and ask STR if I can't find anything workable there.
