Hey guys! I'm looking for a new EDC knife and I wanted to give it a little personal touch. Does anyone of you know a good knife for getting into this aftermarket modding thin? The PM2 would be great but I just couldn't find titanium aftermarket hardware. I wanted to do something like an acid wash paired with bronze anodized hardware and pivot. Any ideas?

PS: sorry for bad grammar, I'm from Austria (nö kang

The possibilities are endless. Maybe go for an Olamic? You might be able to get all your desired attributes built in to the original build of the knife and not need to mess around with aftermarket modding.

Thanks! I never considered Olamic. They seemed a little expensive imo. Maybe I should check them out! But still, I wanted to do some modding because I think it's something very personal and even more than a custom knife... It's just YOUR knife :P Thank you for your quick response!

You can google "Paramilitary 2 Titanium Screw" (Or Hardware instead of Screws) it gives you some results, the screws exist but aren't too common, alternatively you can try a ZT 0562, there is a store that sells titanium hardware in multiple colors, aftermarket clips (Again google is your friend, "ZT 0562 Custom Clips" and you can get a ton of different makers to make you a custom scale as well.

Thank you for your quick response! Yeah Google was my first try, I wasn't able to find a single set of titanium screws for the PM2. I thought about trying to get some made by some kind of custom knife maker

Look for the english translation of "Klingen die wir lieben" (either their website or on ebay.com ) they have Titanium Screws, although as far I know they only work with their scales.

And just to clarify, the rules are you can't mention shops/stores on Bladeforums that aren't on the vendor list that support/sponsor the forum, so we gotta be a little cryptic about it.

Haha yeah I've seen some of their knives but they don't sell the PM2 stuff anymore :(

Did you ask? Because they still keep posting customized PM2's on instagram, can't hurt to ask, either DM them on IG or send them an email.

/Alternatively, you can change color on stainless screws with a blowtorch, if you want to go for a bronze-ish, that could work well.

Oh ok I didn't know ow that they accept "orders". I think I should try that.
I thought about heat-treating the stock screws. I just was a little concerned about the hardness... Do you know if the treatment would affect the hardness?

They get harder so they get a bit more brittle, but if you just tighten them normally and secure them with blue locktite you should be good.

PM2, para 3, zt 0562, 0566, hinderer xm, BM griptilian, mini griptilian, soon to be bugout all have lots of customization with both manufacturer parts, and custom scale/hardware makers on Instragram, ebay, etc. could be forgetting a few. some of them will do one offs for your particular knife, but these are some of the classics they tend to create a lot for. olamic is a good option because the variety of art work they will do is incredible. but as you mentioned, that's kind of a different class/way of doing things.

Any full Ti Kizer is ripe for customization. Plus they're a great value compared to other brands.

If you are considering engraving as a mod, a Cold Steel Code 4 in S35VN has a very plain grip and it is just waiting to be engraved/etched.

I seen a few places make titanium scales for the pm2.. I just can't remember the names atm.

Flytanium makes some, they have a few designs to pick from as well. They also make them out of brass and copper.

Yeah I might go for the PM2... I thought about Hinderer too but his pricing is absolutely ridiculous imo...

The other one that does titanium scales is... rock scale design.
