Aftermarket pricing on handmades

No, but when I phoned today to order some customs, I was told to call back when the Emersons were in. They did say they would send me a custom catalog. I'll let you know when it arrives and if there is pricing.

Well, from what I saw at the Blade show, if you were one of the lucky ones to have their name drawn at Emerson's table, you could get a CQC-6 for $575. If you buy the knife from anyone else, you will be paying at least $300 over that price. Odds are it would be closer to $500 over Emerson's price. It is amazing what the market will bear.

That one belonged to Les Robertson. he had no problem selling it. Supposedly there were only 4 ES-1's made.

In Emerson's latest custom catalog, prices for most handmades (CQC-5,-6,-7,-8,-9) are $500. The ES1-M (which is basically a larger Commander) is available for a mere $550. The Rhino is $650. The Viper series are all running around $400 each. For his fixed blade knives, the CF-1, CF-7, and CF-10 are $400, the CF-11 is $350, and the CF-6, CF-8, and CF-9 are $300. And of course there is always that wait to consider...I think it's running around 3-4 years now for a handmade. OUCH! Hope I helped you all out a bit. Good luck!

He is selling the Rhino to the public? I thought that one was purported to be military only?

That is bad gouge on there being only 4 ES1-M out there. I have seen more than that in one place before. No idea what the total is but it is a few more than 4.

Dirk: The Rhino is in his newest catalog, WITH a price of $650...I guess he is selling them to the public. What a wicked looking knife!!!

The catalog cost me $3.00US, but I feel it was well worth it. Now if only the wait for a handmade was less than 3 years...
