So while looking at a spyderco endura with Emerson opener Facebook wanted me to know about aftermarket screw on ones and thumb rings. However every Facebook add is temu knock off junk.

So who is the USA made one out of not pot metal version? I might want a ring.

You want either the Wise Men Fang or the 5x5 Pickpocket. They take quite different approaches to adding a wave.

Wiseman was what I was seeking thanks. I'm just thinking the ring I will probably pickup the endura that comes with it built in unless one of those are superior for some reason

They're just different. The Fang turns the Spydie hole into a protruding donut-thing; the Pickpocket is much more minimalist.

just look at the ones Spyderco does & copy that. I just go sraight in with a bench grinder and if the steel is soft enough use a chainsaw file to cut the hook.
My k390 blade was too hard to file, had to grind it with a Dremel.
Go slow, don't heat or discolor the metal

Fair point what do I need to do to not ruin the temper of the edge? Definitely getting a rig though

Any sort of grinding on a finished blade should be done slowly, just a little at a time, with frequent dipping of the blade into ice water to prevent overheating. When I grind on a finished blade I let the blade sit in ice water for a few minutes first so I start with a cold blade.

But if there is a simple and inexpensive way to achieve a "wave" opening without permanently altering the blade, then I would suggest doing that. After all, at some point you might change your mind and want to go back to using the opening hole.

And by the way, no one knows how to grind until they learn. No one is born knowing how to grind a blade. Fortunately this is a forum where some people are more than happy to teach you.

Or just buy one, I have a Delicia, factory waved.
The opening hole is not changed, still usable.
It does make an ugly knife uglyer tho.
