Does such a thing exist from a quality manufacturer? Looking for something larger than the original and which doesn't require any machining.

Thanks.

I recommend the Glock one. The class 3 dealer in my town has one on his G19 and really likes it. I'm fine with stock as I prefer to "sling shot" the slide instead of using the release.

I would recommend you leave it stock and grasp the top of the slide to release it during practice.

I concur fully with NorCalMtn2! That is the standard manual of arms on defensive semi-autos. GLOCK refers to that particular part as a "Slide Stop" and not a "release" for that simple reason. In the factory GLOCK Instructor's course, this was emphasized heavily.

You will want to come over the top because it uses gross motor skills PLUS fully compresses the recoil spring ensuring a more positive slide foward motion. Besides this manual of arms is universal meaning it will work on any semi-auto made on the planet Earth!

Do what you want obviously but you'll find the slide will tend to lock open when you don't want it too if you choose to use an aggressive slide stop lever. And if you want it it to better faciliate locking the slide open then that is a training (software) issue and not a hardware issue.

Installing this part is the only modification I've done to my Glock, and I love it.

While you can definitely slingshot your weapon to chamber a round, there are many people who feel that using the slide stop (or slide release) is perfectly fine, too.

Either way, if you use the release, this extended version works far better for the purpose. The original "release" that sits flat on the side and is a pain to operate was the only gripe I had with my Glock. Now that I've changed it, my gun is perfect for me.
