Aftermath thickness?

Hi all,

I never really liked the thinness of handle slabs of the Maxx 5.5 series (had both, but preferred the thicker handles of my CS Vaquero Grande) - and was wondering if the Aftermath has much thicker titanium slabs?

(I've handled the Dominator and the thickness of those slabs is about right...)

Does anyone have both and can compare?

There was a rumour a while ago that the Maxx's were going to have thicker ti slabs - but I haven't heard any confirmation on this one.

Thanks in advance!

The Ti on the Aftermath is .150 and the Ti on the current Maxxes is .125. The first run of Maxxes was .150. The initial reason for the switch to thinner Ti was that Camillus wasn't able to obtain a suffiecent supply of the .150 Ti for a continuous run.

There was speculation that since .150 was used in both the Aftermath and the 7" Gibbs, that it might mean Camillus would be able to bring it back for the Maxx. It appears that since the demand for the Aftermath was not what they hoped for and the Gibb's is a limited run, they will probably not work on procuring a larger quantity of .150 Ti.

I would like to see the Camillus over an option for the thickness on the Ti. I personally prefer how the thicker Ti feels in the hand.

Thanks Dirk - the Aftermath certainly commands a much higher premium in price compared to the Maxxs, due no doubt to the carving of the ti.

Do you happen to know how thick the Dominator ti slabs are? .150?

I didn't get a chance to measure the one that passed my hands - just noticed that it felt much nicer than the Maxx (and better radiusing of the edges too.)

As usual Dirk you are right on the money. I would also LOVE to have the .150" ti back on the MAXX. It would have been nice to have the .150" stuff on a special run of DLC'ed MAXX's!!
