Afternoon hike with the boy's

After it warmed up this afternoon the twins & me decided to take a walk in the woods. We hit the usual trail, the gas line road across from our house.

When we go out like this I lile to try to teach the boy's a little something new about the outdoors, we have all kinds of Beech Trees all around us so I pointed them out to the twins & showed them what the tree looked like & what the nuts looked like & how to hull them out. They taste good !

We decided to try making a small fire just for fun & practice but everything was really damp, we got it to lite one time for a very short time. We didn't bring any tinder from home so I showed the boy's another way to get a little extra tinder by scrapping my jeans -

The Golok is awsome ! The size & design of the Condor Golok is just right for me. After using the Condor Golok, I don't think I'll be using my Trams or Ontarios anymore The boy's picked those Moras out while we were on vacation last summer in Tenn. at SMKW.
