It was a overcast, windy day yesterday and I needed a break. My GF and I headed to the hills just out side of Vegas for a quick hike. I have been eye balling this canyon for a while now and wanted to see if I could find water up in it. We did find a very small spring and I'm sure there are more further in. I plan to spend a day or two exploring deeper into the canyon's soon.

Here are some phone pic's with Busse content!:D

Wow what a nice area, what was the temperature? It looks like a perfect day.

I would guess around 55-60F
It was windy but plenty of places to get out of the wind

Sweet pic! That almost looks like Tucson. I have family there and have spent alot of time exploring the desert there. I like the pack too.

That is some beautiful country. I hope to be able to make it out there for a hike soon. Everyone I talk to says it is amazing. Thanks for the pics.

Salvo, great pics. what direction is that from town? north west? or straight west?? or

Wolfdad just south of Redrock, if your heading to Pahrump it's north of the road. After you past the rest area on right you turn off at a white cattle guard. That trail will take you pretty close. 4x4 is a good idea, then hike from there.

That looks like a great place and the pics are posted just in time.

I will be in Vegas in a couple of days for a week or so. I was not planning on hiking out there but your pics are tempting. I might just throw in my kit and extend my stay.

Tim just let me know. I'll take you up to Mt Charleston if you haven't been, great place for the dogs too broth
