My new Micarta scales for my 2 came in the mail today, so I decided to have some fun with the "Companion".
Took a few pictures first.

The scales fell great but they didn't quite line up with the handle.
They overlap the back of the handle about 1/32"

But, I don't like to nitpick, so no big deal.

I had quite a bit of wood to chop up for my fire pit so I figured I'd get a good feel for the new scales.
Now I know the 2 wasn't the best tool for the job, and I do have blades better suited for chopping the dead fall I had piled up, but I decided I would put my 2 to the test.
The 2 worked surprisingly well as a chopper, and it made short work of the small dead trees I had to chop up.
I had a lager 5" thick tree I saved for last, so I was just chopping the small branches with ease. But since I was by my pond the mosquito's were starting to really get to me, and I momentarily got careless.
....................................then I chopped a little more than a branch.
I got my left index finger right below the knuckle with a good chop.
I spent the next half hour trying to slow the bleeding enough to glue it shut with super glue.
After several failed attempts I called it quits and drove to the ER for a few stitches.
I didn't take any pics of the wound because I was too busy applying pressure so I wouldn't bleed all over the house and tick off my wife, but I got pictures of the aftermath.
I guess I lucked out with only 4 stitches, since the 2 is an indestructible train wrecker.

And here's what I used to keep the bleeding under control.

In the end I'm loving the new scales, and I'm loving the BK2 even more.
I'd hate to see what would have happened if I did this with a 9.
