Who has one and how do you like it? Does it make a good user or is it better as a safe queen?

I've looked at old threads, but I don't see too many users out there. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!:)

I don't have one, but Jimmy Jones has a beautifully abused user...

I REALLY miss my BM-e user (not a bolo, but very similiar.)

I had one many moons ago and did not care for it because it had less meat in the center. It was just a BM-E that had less meat in the center. It did not have a larger front blade area, like you would expect of a typical bolo. At least not the one I had.

If you like the BM-E then you'll like the AB, like Cobalt said, it's a BM-E with less meat in the middle, more like a re-curved BM-E than a traditional 'Bolo'.

I like that it's a tad lighter than the Mistress, and it's balance is more forward. That and the scary zero edge, it's my favorite Mistress

User or safe queen ?

Mines a CG, 1 of 0, I'd never heard of a CG AB till I stumbled on to this one. It had been used by the prior owner, so there was already some coating wear.

..... not one of those shinny Satin/ Black Paper serialized beauties I'd just love to have.

:D

I have an unused one. It's a safe queen ( I have several others to beat). No reason not to use one though. They're great choppers, like any BM-E would be. Very unique and collectible too.

I was interested in one a while back and wondered the same thing. However, I wound up getting a ZTBM which I loved but had to sell to fund other priorities..... Don't know how they compare to FBM's though. I prefer wider blades and just a little more weight and decided to stick with a flat ground FBM.

The A-B weighs 1-lb 5.1-oz and the FBM (std scales) 1-lb 10-.1-oz. A difference of 5 -oz.

The FBM may be a better chopper for heavier chores, but the A-B and BM-E work about as well and might be an easier load to carry depending on your packing weight criteria.

I had one also (LE), and it left for the same reasons as Cobalt's.

Didn't the LEs come with the Kenny Rowe sheath?

IIRC, I got it from the then Head of the Custom Shop, and it since ended up in Chi-Town.
