Without going into CRKT's dealer pricing policies, I can say that A.G. Russell won't be the cheapest outfit out there, but they have one of the most professional and informative operations out there (again without implying an odious comparison to anybody else), and they have some good stuff you just won't get anywhere else - especially their high-quality traditional pocket knives.

I'm sure if you search around, you'll find lower prices elsewhere for everything on AG's site except for the AG exclusives. Some sites even have guarantees that they will match prices with anybody.

Not to belittle any one else, but having dealt with them in the past, AG gets full marks, for prompt, friendly service. Hell, most times the queries are answered so well and so quickly I feel guilty not buying

Yeah, like James mentioned, some of the AG exclusives are terrific value for money, especially those handmade in Japan. I have been eyeing their Loveless-style hunter and linerlock (ATS43, blue anodized titanium, chinese quince burl) for some time.

Yeah, to answer your question, they are a little pricey. But, they have a really great and friendly staff, and around here, where else (besides Outdoor America) can you go to actually get your hands on some of these knives and play with them? But back to the topic, yes you usually can beat their prices from many different sources on the internet.

Ditto what's been said already. AG's prices on everyday stuff can usually be beaten by other net dealers. However, few will match him in customer service. Also, he provides a great website, with lots of information on several different aspects of knives. To top it off, he has a complete line of AG Russell knives made for him. The ones I've seen were unique, of very good quality, and at very reasonable prices. For example, this folder features beautiful wood handles, nickel silver bolsters, and a damascus blade - all for only $99. You can't beat that. Check out his complete AG Russell line of knives at :

He also has many top-name custom makers make exclusive series of knives just for him. These knives are often readily available without waiting years to order a knife directly from the maker.

Then there's The Cutting Edge, Russell's For Men, and The Knife Collectors Club. Let's just say that AG has a lot to offer the knife enthusiast.

If you get a chance, the A.G.Russell exclusives are great. Owning both the Loveless style that Redvenom mentioned, and the wood-NiAg-damascus folder that Senator mentioned, I can attest to their quality. They are my two favorite knives hands-down. I picked them both up (on two separate occasions 3yrs apart) from the showroom. Go in and look at their returned knives. They may be slightly used, or have a small cosmetic flaw, but you'll get a Hell of a Deal! I got the Loveless-style for $135, and the smaller damascus for $65. For that kind of quality, I didn't care that they had been sold and returned. There was absolutely nothing wrong with them functionally.

GET TO THE SHOWROOM!! You owe it to yourself, and they are great about letting you handle the knives. Goldie is very well informed too.

I was down there this weekend, and would have stopped by, but there just wasn't time.
