I'm not in a financial position at the moment to be adding many knives to the collection, but when these AG Russell Curved Regular Jacks were listed in the January sale catalog, I just couldn't help myself. :o

And man are these nice. Fit and finish is outstanding. Not the slightest bit of wobble of visible gaps anywhere. The blades are nicely finished and the edge is smooth and sharp. It doesn't have a lock, but the way the spring and tang are designed, it snaps into place as if it did. The bone is as beautiful in real life as in the catalog pictures. Not a dainty traditional pocketknife at all, it has quite a bit of heft to it and the blade is thick.

Looks real nice. They are very fussy about where they source their knives. All that I've seen from them have been first rate.

I like the double pull - looks good with a nail nick AND a long pull. As previously stated; If AG Russell puts their name on it; It's first rate.

+1:thumbup: I have both the jigged bone version and the smooth white bone version of that knife. Unbelievable fit and finish, actually comparable to some of my customs..... its that good. It has nice "hefty" feel to it, yet it isn't a "big" knife. Lot's of blade there as well. I've never been disappointed with an AG Russell made knife and this particular pattern is really sweet.

I love the look of this knife.

The double nail nick (long pull, then nick in swedge), used to be a feature I did not like visually.

However, I bought one in a Steel Toenail from GEC, and absolutely love the feature.

It opens so much easier!

If there is enough blade to pinch, the nick adds lots of traction to do so. It is great for pinching, and for nails.

I have to admit, that I love the look of a clean long pull, but my nails like a nick better. Best of both worlds for me!

On another note, I have one of their sod buster patterns, and they nailed the construction and fit and finish on mine.

Shame about the double nail nick’s.
Yep, for some reason that has always been the deal-killer for me on that knife. Nick, or long pull, but not both. They used to have a Wharncliffe version of the same knife which I coveted, but it was sold out before I could get around to getting one.
