AG Russell Deer Hunter

Does anyone have one of the AG Russell Deer Hunter knives with a 4 inch blade? and have used it? Any steel, which I think could be either VG10, D2, 154CM(?) or Aus8? I have not used mine, sits in a box in storage but I am thinking of getting out and using it, Mine is in VG10, anyone have any trouble sharpening? I think it is just my bad sharpening skills.
