interested in a lock blade pocket knife for less than $50. Heard great things about the featherlite. Can anyone comment on the locking mechanism? Can't tell the quality or ease of use of this mechanism.

Thanks

Awesome knife. My favorite. Lock is a two handed operation. Super thin, super light, and great for in pocket carry.

Ditto. Awesome knife. Super-easy one-hand opening. The lockup is the same mechanics as a lockback; only the release is different. Choice of blade styles, choice of steel, and with an optional neck sheath. Very thin, lightweight, and durable.

I think you'll be happy.

p.s. I've seen it mentioned before that one-hand closing is impossible. It's not. I can't do it gracefully, but it is possible.

One hand closing requires a wiping action. When broken in, you can wrist snap it shut as well.

I think it's a great knife. A flat grind and an adjustable pivot would be nice but it's amazing for the price as is.

I have the "utility" blade pattern. Love it.

The Featherlite is an excellent knife. I have no problem closing it with one hand. There are several different techniques and it may take a little bit to find one that works for you. This is the one knife I have that rides vertical in the pocket all day long. Very comfortable and unobtrusive.

the knife can be closed with either hand several ways. I prefer pinching the button with the thumb and SECOND finger and pressing on the back of the blade with the index finger. It may take a little practice but it is easy once you quit gripping the handle instead of just the button.
all the best and thanks for taling about my favorite design. A. G.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts. Look like i can't go wrong with this knife. Special thanks to Mr. Russell. I had read in your catalog that it was your favorite knife.
