I was just stropping some of my knives. I have many I like. I have a couple dozen knives. Many traditional slippies and fixed blades. But there is one that I am amazed by - an AG Russell Featherlite with the utility blade. It is amazing. Supper slim and light yet with a good solid blade. It is the one knife that is consistently "hair popping" sharp. I have had it for several years after reading about them on Varmint Al's website. Whether I am tying up tomatoes in the garden or cutting a wounded deer's throat - this baby is it. It is my one knife - not fancy, not expensive - just darn good. If I could only keep one folder this would be it.

Not a scientific review, just a passionate one made while the wife and daughter are getting ready for a cook-out. I'll try to add pics tomorrow.

I agree, AGR has a real winner in the Featherlite One Hand...
I have one with the AUS-8 blade and it holds an edge forever. :)

Also, the AGRussell folks are excellent to deal with.

I have two AG Featherlite and they are fine lite weight knives. Mine are ATS34. I bought one about 2 years ago and like it so much I bought another a few months ago. Had a small amount of play so exchange it from AG Russell and they did not even charge me postage. That is real class act from a long time mail order knife company. I just bought an all steel version from them with 154CM.

It just disappears in your pocket, but it's plenty stout and can be opened one-handed, either with the thumbhole or with a quick flick. A definite keeper.

I'm a fan of the FeatherLite also. Unique locking design, super light weight, great blade shape, and the available variations. Would be a perfect backpacking knife.

FYI, AG is re-releasing the traditional One-Hander with the solid metal handles with a ZDP-189 blade, and another 'regular high quality steel' which I can't remember at the moment. I think it's CPM 154, or similar. This is the same size and shape as the Featherlite w/ utility blade, just a little heavier.

I love my Lite wt. Featherlite One Handed Folder by AG but the new all metal folder he has brought back had very sharp thumb studs that are angled. Painful just to open the knife and the top locking bar has a rivet or pin going thru it and it is has sharp edges that hurt when you unlock the blade. I sent it back. I was very disappointed as I love my Lite wt. One haned folder. In fact I bought a back up just in case.
