AG Russell Field Knife 2

Hello JV1,
I just ordered the AG Russell Field Knife 2 (FK2). Hopefully Ill be able to give you my thoughts on it in a week or two.
I was attracted to the FK2, after enjoying other AG Russell products, the Acies (sweet folder!) , and the one hand knife.
I love their customer service, and catalogs!
I also purchased, based on recommendations from this forum, the Bravo 1.

Is that the one with the really wide machine-ground fuller, with the black Micarta (or is it RUcarta?) handle? That knife has appealed to me like no other fixed blade, and I just can't figure out why. There's something about the way it looks that grabs me.

I'd be interested to hear what anyone else has to say about it. I've never spent that much on a fixed blade, as I'm mainly a folder kind of guy, but I'm VERY tempted by this one.

Definitely give us the low down when you get it. I think that may be the only knife I've actually had a dream about.

Its this sexy beast!

ordered it last night, and am counting down the days till it comes!

(I'm thinking three days from ship date.. which I'd assume to be the 21st, and the 24th being sunday.. monday it shall be)

Ill definately take some pictures and get em' on here, I haven't been able to find any real reviews or even picture other than the stock photo from AG's website, so I will amend that.

The one thing I did manage to find was a review on the original field knife by AGR, (being the field knife 2, it was naturally preceded with a field knife 1) and the review was very favorable, so I'm hoping for good things!

Cheers!

Just as I predicted AGR's Field knife 2 was waiting for me in my mailbox after work yesterday.
I have to say that I am quite impressed with the big knife so far. First of all its an absolutely beautiful knife, feels great in my hand, and came wonderfully sharp out of the box. The nylon sheathe it came in is satisfactory, nothing too impressive but no major problems that I can detect so far.
Its much better than the litttle peice of junk sheathe that came with my Bravo 1. (very dissapointing considering the cost of the bravo 1, see blunttruth's Review Vid he mentions the bad sheathe too)

I'm considering having a custom sheathe made for my new field knife 2.. Any suggestions for a sheathe for a bigger size knife like this thing? (It's 12 inches overall) Ideally I'd like something I could mount to my pack, Molle maybe?

Im trying to figure out what the factory edge angle is on my new baby, but I'm having trouble finding this information. I'll probably send an email to AG Russells website today to see if I can figure this out. Unless someone here can help me out... ;)

Note: as I mentioned before this knife came razor sharp out of the box, so its not that I plan on/or need to sharpen it right a way, but I keep a record of sharpening angles on all my knives to facilitate future sharpenings..

I like the knife; but, I'd LOVE it, if they did away with the fuller and simply gave it a nice, thin full flat grind to the spine.

Looks like a jazzed up Buck 119 or 124. I could do without the hole in the blade but otherwise it looks pretty darn cool. Nothing wrong with starting with a successful proven design to base your knife from. :)

I just received my yesterday, but have not had a chance to use it. I've looked and cant find any reviews on it. If I get a chance, I'll post some pics of mine.

So I promised these a while ago, and here they finally are:
Some pictures of the Field knife 2

I need you guys to go buy some of my stuff on the for sale thread. Then I can get a Field Knife of my own. :D

I don't own any of those knives you mentioned... but I just gave the Field Knife 2 a good shake and I didnt detect any rattle. Up-Down or side to side, It remains quiet while sheathed.
