Hi, I am looking for some feedback on The AG Russell Gentlemans Framelock. Do any of you guys have one of these if so what are your thoughts on the knife. I have searched and can't find a review or any good pictures or anything about the knife except what is on AG Russells website. Thanks

Thanks guys. He loves it. He used to carry a slip-joint so he had to get used to this one.
I'd ask him to post a pic but he can't use the computer.

If it's anything like the Acies (looks like it doesn't it) then its excellent.

It'll be my next knife purchase.....I've been asking A.G. for a lefthand friendly Acies and I think this is the andswer to my questions.

On AG's website it pretty much states this is a less expensive Acies 2. VG-10 blade instead of ZDP-189 and made in China instead of the US.

What's with all of these VG-10 chinese made blades? I thought Takefu didn't export it out of country, let alone to China.

I'm considering picking up one of these for back pocket carry. It's got just the right specs for me . . . 3" blade, 3 oz, decent steel, Titanium handles and a flipper. I'd be curious to know how well the flipper works. Does it require a wrist snap or will it open with finger pressure alone?

Yup, that's what I like about it. Still would have preferred a lefthanded Acies but this'll do just fine too.

From what I understand they never used to export Takefu steels. But they do now.

Sounds like my dad. I don't think he even knows how to turn a computer.

Over all I like this knife. The deep carry clip was disappointing. The screws that attach the clip snag the pocket before it seats all the way. The tang of the blade looks to have a circular cut out around the pivot screw. To me it seems this design severely compromised the strength of this knife.

I can't speak to this model, but I've never had an A.G. Russel that I wasn't happy with. If it strikes your fancy then you should get one.

Well, it has stood the test of time; this is a 5+ year old thread.

I'll add a picture of the knife for fun, multi-media etc.

If he hasn't pulled the trigger in 5 years, I doubt he will do so.

The guy above you necro'd this thread.
