Hi Folks

coming to you live from this great show from a fantastic venue.

AG has outdone himself in every aspect and I'm sure the dinner tonight will be terrific.

Anyway, AG has added a new twist to show coverage and is providing a BLOG for folks to view and participate via comments to get a feel of the show

also, for others wanting additional images of knives and folk please check out

www.customknifecollectorsassociation.com > Forums > General > Reviews > AG Russell Knife show 2008

still have more photos to upload and more to take tomorrow as I'm sure more will be added to AG's Blog so check them both out.

CKCA has a booth at the show and we have the computer with WIFI access so have been showing a slide show of knives and also photographing and editing images for the CKCA site

Murray,

That's a great link to AG's blog. There are some outstanding makers at this event.

Your review on the CKCA forum is great for those of us who couldn't make the show.

Murray - The combo of your thread on CKCA and AG's blog is about the best pictoral documentation of a show I can remember. Thanks a bunch!

Thanks Murray. Your report and the info on the blog give an outstanding overview of the show.

A. G., it looks like you put on an event to be proud of.

I'm still here, and will go back to the show in the morning. So far, this is a total success. A.G., ya done good, my friend!

Your live-like presentation of the show does take us around
by the hand, giving us the "grand" tour!

Thanks, Murray!

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

finally got a chance to check out the review. That was fun!
Thanks Murray:)

Wonderful review! Its the next best thing to being there. Thanks so much for putting in the work to bring it to us. The blog is amazing

It looks like that show is a grand success. Congrats A G

I got to go for a bit yesterday and was impressed. Very good showing by a lot of makers and manufacturers. I was going to return today but cant :(. Wanted to go back by Ray Kirk's table and take another look at his slip joints and pick up one of is damascus ring tools.
Really great show, I wish I could have spent more time than I did.

Sorry I missed you today, Danbo!

Murray, enjoyed meeting you and Phyllis. Your review is great (except for the salad dressing shot ) and you are a picture taking, editing, posting machine. I hope everybody checks out his review thread on CKCA. Awesome coverage!

It was a wonderful show. Here are a few shots for this thread that I took. With Murray doing such a great job, this was about it for me in the camera department.

A view of the show. Nice crowd all day Saturday.

A.G. had lots of family present, also.

There was a display and history of A.G.'s Loveless collection at the show which was a real treat. I couldn't get a good picture due to the glare of the glass case they were dispalyed in, but 40 Loveless knives in one place was a sight to behold. Included were several pages of the history of the two knife legends and their friendship.

75-year old Missouri knifemaker Corbin Newcomb is still making great damascus blades. His story of how he and his partner, Jim May, learned to make damascus by finally contacting Bill Moran many years ago is one to hear, and Corbin has been sharing what he knows with up and coming knifemakers ever since. Even with our own Dan Unger.

A.G.'s second annual event is already scheduled for the last weekend in July in 2009.

Had a great weekend at A G's show. The venue was great as were the accomodations. The crew was well organized and very helpful. Everything was outstanding and the best thing is, sold lots of knives. Looking forward to next year.

Great seeing ya at the show, Steven. :)
