AG Russell Sting Value?

Going through my tool drawer I found a shiny black knife that I purchased from AG Russell years ago.

It is marked Copyright AG Russell 1977 on the lower part of the blade just ahead of the grip. There is also a mark on the blade itself that looks acid etched that says AG Russell in an arc that forms the top half of a circle, Springdale ARK USA Horizontally in the center of the circle and Solingen Germany in an arc that forms the lower half of the circle.

It has a nylon sheath with a simple plastic clip.

The finish on the blade is very shiny black and it is sharp as a razor. It is a dagger configuration with a raised, smooth rib in the center of the blade on both sides.

My question is is this an original? I purchased it directly from Russell years ago.

If it is original, what might its value be? I'd say it is in 100% NRA condition.

Sounds like it's all original. I don't remember a black coating, but it's probably a limited model.

A. G. claims they can go upwards of $200 - $300, in some places.

It might be worth contacting him from his website, to see if you can get it into his consignment catalog, if you're interested in selling it.

It doesn't sound like your sheath is original, but AG Russell offers the knife you describe complete with original leather sheath on his website cuttingedge.com for 360,00 US dollars.

"This knife is in mint condition. The color is black chrome and is rare. Comes in a black cordura sheath with a boot clip."

A quote from AG Russell's Cutting Edge web site. It describes my knife perfectly.

The finish on mine is a much deeper black and in 100% like new condition.

The sheath is original.

I'm not interested is sell, but it is great to see what it is worth. I also have 2 of his one handed knives with I see are selling in the $175.00 range.

WOW
