I'm hoping to get some feedback from owners of these knives. Perticularly the smallest version. I plan on using it as a keychain knife and wonder how well they hold up over time and use. I've heard that the bail (I think that's what it's called) is a little on the flimsy side. Any truth to that? Could it be removed leaving a small lanyard type hole that I could put a small split ring through?
I understand the knife isn't overbuilt like some may consider the ladybug3, but how can I expect it to hold up compared to something like a Vic classic? Could it be considered solidly constructed for its size?
I'm thinking, and hoping, this may be the perfect keychain knife for me. Super thin, super light, quality materials, reasonable price, ect.. I haven't heard too much about it though.
-Thanks for any/all input.

Awesome knife, scalpel sharp and can be made sharper. Bail is a bit weak and will fail over time, but it will be replaced, AG has awesome service.

I am getting the lockback 2.5in size soon. Very happy with the smaller one. I could shave with it in a pinch.

Bail is flimsy. Mine fell off and I replaced it with a steel ring and then placed a split ring around that. That was a year ago and it's worked perfectly. The knife has great edge geometry and is worth every penny of the price. I gave them out as groomsmen gifts at my wedding and all the guys loved them.

I bought 4 of the smaller ones. They are cool little keychain knives.

Yes. I removed the bail and replaced it with a #5 split ring on my two. I'm well pleased with these little knives.

Great little knives, I have all three versions of the ti pen knives. Good answers on the bail issue. They aren't what I'd call heavy duty for daily use on tough tasks, but for lighter duty cutting chores, they work very well, they are some of my favorite knives.

I appreciate the input, I'll be ordering at least one tomorrow. I'm looking forward to giving it a try. Thanks again.

I was surprised by the high level of F&F, especially for such an inexpensive 'novelty'-sized knife. Mine has never been carried or used, but from repeated fondling I can guess that it's at least as durable as a Swiss Army Knife. The bail seems OK to me, certainly capable of securing the knife to a keyring. If you feel otherwise, it could easily be switched out or simply removed.

I think you'll be pleased with your order when it arrives. The Ultimate Pen Knife is no zombie-chopping, wilderness-clearcutting, melee weapon but I'm comfortable in calling it a bargain for $20.

A great knife that is truly EDC. Mine has no bail and I carry it in my wallet. A handy office knife for those really little cutting tasks.
I've actually taken it onto an airliner, twice! Just completely forgot it was there and it got through security. Not much of a weapon to be sure but with all the media driven hysteria nowadays, it could have proved awkward.
