I guess I'll start by saying the exchange has got me in trouble again. Awhile back I bought a Cattaraugus Sleeveboard Whittler from traumkommode traumkommode and when I received it I was blown away. The knife was beautiful and the F&F and overall quality of this knife surpassed anything I owned yes including GEC.
I started researching the knife and found out what I'm sure some of you already know that AG Russell owns the Cattaraugus brand but also has a club that is simply named The Knife Collectors Club that these knives were made for. I have found and bought 4 of these knives so far they are made in Seki Japan from AUS-8 , 57-59 RC. I have the CM-14 Sleeveboard and the CM-10 20th Century Barlow and I have purchased but not received yet the CM-12 a toothpick pattern and the CM-10 Lockback. I hope to find all of these because they are simply incredible knives. Do any of you have any of these knives if so post some pictures.

I have a couple of the same knife you showed in he first pic. It is indeed outstanding. Superb craftsmanship.

But my favorite of the AG Russell Cataragaus knives if this one. One large clip, a smaller wharncliffe secondary, and a bonus Phillips screwdriver. The main blade locks, and unlocks by pressing down on the closed secondary blade.

Happy to contribute to your delinquency, Randy ;) Those are really cool and very finely made knives.

I have this one.^ Agreed, beautiful workmanship and a very unique lock for the main blade. The jigged bone on these is beautiful. I think A.G.R. originally had this in stag too, at one time; seem to recall seeing it in his catalog. Wish I'd bought one of those too.

I have another large single-blade folding hunter of his, also KCC issue, with his split bolster lock. Don't remember the model# at the moment, or the exact name he gave it.

{ Edited: the Folding Hunter is not branded as Cattaraugus, but KCC model# FH-2 in AUS-8 steel (Japan-made) and tang-stamped 1989 year of release, with brown jigged bone and acorn shield. }

But again, a beautifully-crafted knife in jigged bone. Need to take a pic of that one...

Buzzbait, I have a similar knife to yours except it has Stag covers, and is marked in an arch "A.G. Russell" and under that in a straight line "Springdale, ARK". It was thought to be a "Matt Helm" knife, from the book series about him. John

I used one of the sleeveboard whittlers for a few years and liked the edge I could put on it. Fits the pocket nicely.
I only wish that it had a coping blade for one of the secondary blades. The shield fell out but I never did use a shield to cut with.
The master blade was ground from some pretty thick stock. Just check out the spine.
Nice knife.
