Hello,
Found at a local estate sale, I was wondering if anyone knows how old this Schatt Morgan knife is and what pattern it is? Thanks in advance.....

I’m no Schatt and Morgan/Queen expert. Yes, it appears to be a gunstock jack. According to one tang stamp chart I found, it seems that tang stamp was used 1903-1932. It’s visual appearance leads me to believe it could very well be that old, in other words, it doesn’t look like recent manufacture to me. More photos of other tang stamps/markings and/or help from actual aficionados here may help to better identify it for you.

That looks like a Gunstock pattern. Try posting the photo in the Traditionals forum. They could probably give you a better idea of what it is and how old.

Gunstock Jack pattern.
Could well be 1903 to 1932, as mentioned above. The original S&M and the original Queen did shut down during the 30's Great Depression.
(they were not the only old high-end brands to go under during the Great Depression.) I forget who bought the names in the 30's. Both names have been sold several times since.

Thanks all for the time and trouble. I know the knife is an original from before S&M went bankrupt in 1930 I think it was, I was just wondering if there was a way to date it more specifically than that 27 year spread before they went bankrupt, maybe there isn't, and it probably does not matter anyway.
