I have backed out of the knife collecting but still watch. The boss and I love the kitchen knife sets enough that I purchased another set of steaks knives for possible gifts. We use the Empress Trio set for our selves and a set of the Royalty Steak knives,

When were the royalty set made and when were the 4 knife set as below made.

Thank You guys I plan to hold on to one set and maybe gift out the other to my niece.

I don't know when they were made, but it looks like one set has 2 different manufacturing dates, Buck stamp, to it...

Yes the Royal steak knives I think are older, mid 80s my guess. The other I am guessing early 90s but unsure. Just interested for my info. Thanks

375, your Windsor set model 206, a 6 knife set, with that stamp and guard came out in late 1977. I have that set.
The knives in your next photo (Good Photos) are likely from 1990-93 as that set was in Buck's catalog during that time. The guard is removed and they have 3 large pins. Plus, now the handles are wood laminate. Your knives are a great historical example of Buck marketing. Thank you for posting this. DM

I hope you enjoy using your Empress Trio set, model 200. I really like ours. This knife you inquire about came out in 1972 in the Trio set with a black micarta handle. Later in 1976 was
brought out as the model 107 Scout. Later brought out in the 206 Steak knife set. Then discontinued in about 1999. I don't see them
much at shows. It's a great pairing & steak knife. DM

Thank you David, I should have known that a GOOD set of knives would make an impression but until we had some it was low priority, now if I didn't have them I would make it a priority, they are just that nice.

Your 6 knife Windsor set, those knives would have 440C blade steel and your 4 knife set the steel would be 425M. Having the knives with those boxes are great to have and make your sets more valuable. Because these knives are often pulled out and sold separately. I hope
your niece is someone who enjoys setting a upgrade table for her guests. As having a Windsor set puts her a step or 2 up the ladder of setting a proper table. Something "Miss Manners" would approve. i.e. Judith Martin. DM
