Estimated early 1970s, not certain. Was this knife a Boulder CO manufacture? If not, where was this one made. Port side of blade reads "Western U.S.A." and starboard side reads "S-901 Stainless". I posted about this some time ago, but can't dig up that old post.

Tried to search for other info , but that function down on the site.

You have an older USA made in Longmont, Colorado Camper knife, produced in the 70's and 80's. The company was bought out by the Acme United Group, which manufactures Camillus knives...all are of Asian manufacture now. You have a nice classic Camper, and I've found a few that are USA manufactured that can be bought new for about $90.00 or so. I would make it a safe queen. Very nice find.

$90!!! I'd pass.

I bought this one last year at a local gun show for $30, and that's half again as much as the maximum I'll usually spend on a knife. I see them sell in excellent condition for a max of about $40.

These Westerns are very good knives.

WAY over priced.
Well, by your own admission, you won't spend more than $60.00 for a knife, so the argument is moot. I suppose a Tony Bose/Case collab will never be in your future. No. I rarely spend more than $20 and almost never over $30 (30 is half again as much as 20: 20+20/2=30 ---- ...$30 "is half again as much (20) as the maximum I'll usually spend on a knife."). You can find a Western S-901 in excellent or unused/uncarried condition for $30. The box just ain't worth another $60.
