does anyone have some pictures demonstrating how stag handles age? I imagine the brown/popcorn bark wears off and it eventually turns white with pocket and hand wear, but I have no idea.

Here's a carving set that's 80, maybe 90 years old. Aged pretty well if you ask me.

Heres a 1976 Case Swing Guard #5111 1/2 (Cheetah). I haven't had since new but going on 20 years since I picked it up---it's yellowed to more of a "butter" color since I've had it. I do back pocket carry this one so it does see use.

And here's a 1970 Case #5392 Stockman that I picked up recently and it also has the "butter" yellow color.

Hope this sheds some light on what your looking for;)

I know there are many variations of Stag but these have a distinctively different appearance then the Stag on my GEC knives.

Paul that Case Stockman is most typical of the 70's Case knives that they put out, just Stunning!
Christian, that carving set should be at my house, I feel it would be appreciated a lot more :D, everytime I see that set it brings goosebumps to my spine!

If you want to see truly aged Stag, most of us have put our Stag photos in here ...there are some stunning shots of Stag in this thread, I suggest you sit down one night and go from the start to finish...this is a stunning Thread! http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/829602-Just-Stag-!!

Some nice pieces there. So the bark doesn't wear off, and the white areas turn a buttery colour. I've always been a bit wary of stag, I don't want to like it - its too expensive, but that other thread might change my mind.
