I would LOVE to try that sucker out!
How much does it weigh?

The balance point is centered and the weight is 4.8 oz.

I am allready getting requests on this one from another forum as well..I think I better make a few more up.

Thanks, I gotta make one for throwing around the shop... I love sticking knives in the doors.. and walls... I wonder why nobody ever visits my shop? lol

I want to like lightweight throwing knives, and they are great at close range at the shop and stuff, but for that throwing spokes into boxes scratches the itch for me. But, with a concrete floor and the potential for damage, well a light weight thrower wouldn't get much use...without causing damage, from time to time. Ask me how I know.

Because I love to lob a big fat throwing knife at my target from a good long distance, I like a 12" or so o/a and 9-10oz or so. Wind be damned, if that sucker's heavy enough you're good to go! I'm no ninja, I like the excercise of walking to and from my target after two to four good throws from a good distance.

I like the overall shape of this thrower, and the pointy handle is ok although I'de personally prefer it without. The texture and the holes in the handle is excellent and really looks like it would allow a lot of control over the release.

S30V is an excellent choice at that hardness. Some folk might think; "that's pretty deluxe material for a thrower", well to that I say S30V is tough! Tougher than most carbon steels I wager and oxidization resistant to boot. Now with that being said, I think to take it all the way this knife should be polished.

That's just my take. Like I said, I'm just a backyard knife lobber. I really enjoy it and don't mind investing in a quality thrower that's gonna last and my favourite is Moeller's Viper series. I have two IIIs and they are excellent, but a little small.

You are right....it takes alot of weight to get out to those long targets...
I do wish I had a bunch of S30V laying around in 3/16" and 1/4" .... But all my stock is
.150 -.130 precision ground stuff... I wish I had a nice back yard to set up a target in too! ... I just hate living in the city!

I hear ya man. I'm a lucky dude who has a little 1/4 acre away from prying eyes. I sometimes wonder what my neighbours think that whirring sound is following by that 'thunk'.:D

My Vipers are 440c, and they're soft enough to be tough.

This little guy measures 8 1/2" and is made from 5/16" material. It's a relatively small knife which has enough weight behind it to matter.

I like your design better, (apart from the pointy handle). Perhaps a slightly longer and slimmer version of your design in the .15 S30V would add more weight for the longer throws, and still spin through the wind with a smaller profile.

However, this is a cool knife and regardless of what I like in general. It's fun to throw, I'll bet:thumbup:

I allways liked the vipers.... in fact, it was the inspiration for my very first custom knife! It just sold recently. It too was made of 440C.... I made it in the early 90's.

man, that's a good looking knife. Love those ninja stars too!

Thank you, I managed to hang onto it for 18 years or so. I threw it a few times before i finished it out...but never again. The same guy bought both knives....nice to keep them together.

the guy has good taste:thumbup:
