Does anyone have one of these?

I was somewhat intrigued by the Texas Rangers version, and now that there's a civilian version it's shot to the top of my list of ones that I need to have. I have no problem carrying large knives, my standard carry is a large sodbuster, and this is large enough that it intrigues me.

How does it feel in the hand? I'm a sucker for Yellow knives, and this looks perfect. :)

I just bought three of these, one in each of the 3 handle choices (yellow delrin, brown micarta, and cocobolo). First impression, it's HUGE. It's MUCH bigger than the large Case sodbuster (I have one of those too). If you like really LARGE knives, by all means, go for it. You might double-check the specs on it, as it was even BIGGER than I expected (and I was expecting a large knife).

The fit & finish on these knives is excellent, considering the price.

I really like the Texas Ranger's series of knives and also like the three new one's that he has designed. But the 2010 Texas Ranger knife is the best one I've seen:thumbup: I really love the looks.

I know the sucker's massive, and I'm fine with that. A large folding hunter or clasp at 5 1/4" fits my hand well, so I'm thinking the beast might just work.

It's odd. I can palm a basketball, long fingers, but thin- my ring's an 8.

How yellow's the yellow? Rough Rider, Boker, Case?

Regarding the yellow, A.G. Russell describes it as 'VERY Yellow Delrin'. To me, personally, I'd say it's closest to Case's current yellow delrin, maybe just a hair more-so. I don't have any examples from RR or Boker to compare to those. It's not as dark/deep as Queen's yellow on the Country Cousin. It is very attractive, in it's own right. Based on Russell's catalog description, I would've actually expected something more intense, but I'm quite happy with what it turned out to be.

As Goldilocks might've said, I think it's 'just right'. :) <---- In fact, it's not too far off the 'yellow' of that smilie, right there. The knife's handle is maybe just a hair darker. (I'm actually holding the knife up to my screen as I type this, believe it or not.)

By the way, the subject of A.G. Russell's new line in this series (Folding Hunter, Gunstock and Sowbelly Trapper) came up in the Traditional forum recently. I've actually purchased one of each handle option in each of those patterns (9 knives in all), and I'll be taking some pics to post there. I'll add a link here, when the pics are up.

The cocobolo model has caught my eye , they all look very clean and well done in the
catalog.
