Title says it all. I received a beautiful AGR one handed knife with ruby micarta scales about ten years ago as a Christmas present from my parents. I have always carried this as my "gentleman's" knife when I have to dress up (weddings etc;) so I have never considered this for any kind of "hard use" but was wondering how the lock stacks up compared to others such as a liner lock, frame lock, lock back etc; Thanks!

He did sort of.

Its a unique lock design, IMO not terribly strong but more than adequate for most office tasks I would guess. Your grip forces it to stay engaged, but the lock bar and blade notch are not very thick, so I wouldn't think hard use would go well, plus overall these guys are fairly slim which isn't suited to lots of force.

The One Handed Knife has what AG Russell calls a "One Handed Lock". :p

It looks as though the lock would hold more securely the tighter you held the knife. It doesn't look like there would be a possiblity of accidental disengagement as long as you held the knife securely.

Thanks everyone. I have read up on many different types of locks but have never seen anything about this type.
