Hello Guys! I just finished this one, hope you enjoy it:
Full integral fighter with 14 3/4" overall lenght, forged in
merovingian pattern, with 9" blade composed of 8 twisted bars of
O1/15N20 steels. The curved and tapered fuller in the blade was mirror
finished, giving a beautiful contrast to the damascus pattern. The
guard was high relief carved, with a flower design, also mirror
polished, as the file worked collar. The handle was assembled with
mammoth scales, that gently curves outside, completing the persian
ears on the handle butt. The pins are domed.
The sheath is carved leather, with ostrigh skin inlay and damascus button.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers!

Hoooly crap!
That is downright amazing. Downright!

WOW.....So much in one piece....and
it all works...!

Okay...this may actually be the first time since I have been on BFC that I actually said "oh, sh*t!!!!" out loud when the picture popped up on my screen!!:D

I really like how you polished the accents. Many of the other knives in this style were amazing, and although I admired them, I found it all a bit rich.

THIS give a visual break which glorifies it that much more.

And I know it was QUITE a bit more work. Wow.

That old persian split handle things is very appealing.

Bravo!

I am sorry to ask this stupid question. But I can not apprehend the reason for such structure.
Will the handle part in red rectangle weaken the connection between handle and blade?

Words fail to describe the beauty of this knife!

Kind regards,

I'm sure many will agree that yes this is the weak point of the knife, but it would take a HELL of a lot of torque to break it. By weak I only mean the thinnest point which is probably 3/8" x 3/4". A hidden tang knife of this size would have a much thinner cross section behind the ricasso. I feel this is a beautifully and well constructed knife.

It is essentially a monolithic piece of high carbon steel. There isn't really a "connection" between the blade and handle as it is all one piece.
