A couple of weeks ago I received a Boker Mini-Smatchet that I traded into from "OWL" (THANKS "OWL".

.). This knife is excellent (I wish Boker would come up with a version with a 7 inch blade!), but I found the "plastic" grip to be a little slippery, especially since it is a little too short for my wide hand).

There is this product called "Agrip" that is mainly used as a grip enhancer for pistols, especially Glock Pistols. I have installed this Agrip on all of my Glock pistols, and it REALLY helps with the grip on this plastic, so I obtained a small sheet of Agrip, installed it on my Boker Min-Smatchet, and WOW! It feels GREAT! This is a wrap-around, self-stick material that looks and feels like black velvet. It can easily be cut with scissors, but is VERY tough, and won't tear. (It also "dresses-up" the knife well, and gives it a custom look, as it molds itself to the grip...I can still "see" the lines in the mini-smatchet handle!).

You can find Agrip at his web-site at: www.brookstactical.com .

As a fellow dedicated Glocker I too worked with grip tape especially on the large frame glocks....just a bit much for me in girth for getting the best grip...especially during reloads or if hands got wet a bit...or esp. when shooting weakhand. I remember at that time all the hot shot racegunners were using skateboard grip tape. Pachmyr hadn't yet come out with their product nor Agrip. A trip to Home Depot did the trick ...and still working on several WELL used pieces...mainly my original G21. I ended up making a pattern that would wrap around the front strap so you ended up with a sort of 'butterfly' effect. Seems to me that the grip tape being continous from sided to side and especially a full wrap on forestrap essential for a 100% grip. I played with the material for others neeeds...but other than on the base of my extended mags I found no other major use...but essential for a great GlockGrip.

btw...take it easy on cleaning solvents...does eat into the adhesive if not careful though.
