So everytime I have used graphite it has been powder I have made myself and I never really liked the results. And I dont care what liquid lubricant a manufacture pushes I have never in my life used one that dried completely and worked like they promised. But today I got some AGS graphite powder and it seriously is some amazing stuff. My need for it was because I bought a new bastinelli Red folder and it had a somewhat sticky lock. And with a good grip it would get worse. Never had to use two hands but still it was getting annoying. Especially because the lock would creak while using it because of the stick. Everyone says to just use pencil but I have never had too much luck. To be honest I wasnt expecting much from this powder. But I put a tiny puff of it on the lockface and worked the action a bit and blew out the excess. The lock has absolutely zero stick, no creaking. I have been flipping the knife open for an hour now and it has not come back. Pretty awesome stuff. One thing I did do though was I lived with the stick for a few days so that the lockface had a chance to mate with the tang of the blade before I tried this.

Its been many years since I've used dry lubes such as graphite. I've had it in the back of my poor little brain to take another look at them. Not that its a big deal but graphite does't play well with aluminum and maybe other metals. Not sure but I remember something about corrosion. Again no big deal in this application. Just for fun molybdenum disulfide powder might be worth a look too.

I've tried Lock-Ease graphited fluid before on some cheap folders with some success.

Damn..why didn't I think of that. :o I've had mediocre results using pencil lead on an old style ZT 0650. It's still just a bit sticky. I have a tube out in the truck, gonna give this a try. Thanks :)
