Ah...the good old days

Where do you find something like this? Perfect!

Chris

That is a scene from the 1983 movie Deathstalker

It was a funny sword and scocery movie made around the same time as Excaliber and Conan the Barbarian. This was Hollywood exploiting the R-rated stuff to the fullest. They didn't have much intellectual content, but they were fun guy movies that went well with beer and pizza.(did I mention that the legal drinking age was 18 at the time?)

I remember that movie. Didn't the guy have this huge three bladed sword that could shoot two of the blades?

I love the barbarian style fantasy movies. I think I've seen them all, or least all of them that survived to VHS format. That used to be the my thing as a really little kid when went stopped off at the movie rental place (not a 4,000 sq foot showroom like a Blockbuster, but an honest to God portable shack. Maybe 400 copies in all.) Forget the kid stuff, I made my way over to the sci-fi section and picked out one of fantasy movies that I had seen probably more than 10 times. I was a weird child...what a shock, huh?;)

It's funny. I still remember their inventory system even 20 years later. A nail under each worn cardboard sleeve that housed the movie at one time. On each nail was a number of paper tags with the name of the movie on it. If it had a tag under it, the movie was in stock. You took the little tag up to the counter and you got your movie in the plain black movie case.

Deathstalker I've seen more than 5 times, but I can't remember much about it for the life of me. I still remember the box art vividly. Thanks N2N, now I have a whole bunch of movies i'm going to have to Netflix;)
