Recently I got a Gypsy, made by Parker cut.co. that was made in Japan, and discontinued in the late 80s (I think)

Well I needed to clean it up a little bit with some flitz and then re-sharpen it on the spyderco sharpmaker, and now it is scary sharp in under 10 minuites.

The thing just manipulates smoother and easier than my Model 42.

wow. I'm just impressed.

An excellent find.

And now you know why the Parker Gypsy balisongs are sought after as collectible and as users.

They imported them from Japan. With importation now banned, they just don't want to deal with it.

4T,
Does your Gypsy have a 3 finger groove stainless handle, and a deep clip Bowie blade?

I'm not sure if his has the 3 grooves in the handles and bowie blade but mine sure does :)

Just cast handles, with holes in them, and the blade is a simple bowie shape. No finger grooves, so I guess that it is one of the cheaper models then.

Does it look like this???

If so, it's still 157% better than most of the China cheapies for sale nowadays...

I think that this is one of my best flippers.
Heravy chrome plating, but still...the solid pins make up for it....
I haven't seen your knife, but I haven't been dis-sadisfied with anything they put out.

Man,I miss the old Parkers :)

Recently,my roomie gave me an old Valor..which reminds me of the old Bali Hi's.Unfortunately,I can't remember the exact model # or style. And,right now it's packed away...waiting for a possible move.
It's not a style that I'd normally use,but it reminds me of the glory days of the Balisong...

I remember seeing these for sale!! That was the good times, when you could choose between a Parker, PC or Valor. These are good flippers, and I wish I would have bought one.

That's the one, on Dawkind's drop sheet. The skeleton handle is very nice too, something to keep my eyes peeled for. How about a "post your production oldies" thread? I don't have a camera, even though I have some oldies; I am, however, willing to sacrifice :D and look at everyone elses pictures.

Yeah Blade-420, it looks alot like that one, But with Gypsy etched on the blade, and with a whole lotta scratches.

But damn, it is one hell of a good balisong.
