I finally caved and ordered an ESEE AH1 today. I figure it'll be a fun little toy, and even if its not, I get a cool key chain :) anyway, I've seen lots of debate on how useful these things actually are, but very little info on how to attach them. What info there is is based off of pictures that seem to have been taken down for whatever reason, so: how does one actually go about attaching it to a stick? I can see a few potential ways, but if theres a well established technique I'd like to know off the bat.
I've also seen a lot of people saying that the head is too heavy to actually use on an arrow, but from what I can gather, it weighs about a quarter ounce. .25 ounces is just shy of 110 grains, Compare that to modern 100 grain broadheads, and even 125 for heavier game, it seems to me its actually a pretty good weight. For smaller game, the heavier head should even offset the inevitable lower draw weight of a handmade bow. If that was putting someone off from buying one, I wouldn't worry.
little somewhat relevant side thought, but I don't want to deal with having two topics in one thread, so if possible just post a link: does anyone have info on making atlatls?
