Ahh...a good sharp knife

An hour or so ago, I was stropping my Spyderco Sage CF using some stropping paste from china. The purpose was to see if this paste was really diamond by seeing if it cut faster and as fine as CrO. The edge was quite sharp and to test it I decided to see if it would shave a little of the hair on my calf. It cut hair well, but I wanted sharper so I stropped it some more. I then pulled up my pant leg, and to my surprise, there was blood on my pant leg. I looked at where I had previously shaved some hair off and there was a very thin cut bleeding. I felt no pain, and still do not feel any pain, there was just a bit of blood.
After cleaning the cut up and applying some ointment I thought to myself "what a sharp knife"
Perhaps it isn't the best idea to test a sharp blade on one's skin at midnight, or to even sharpen a knife for that matter.
I am appreciating S30V steel more and more every day.

Ahh...the enjoyment of using a nice sharp knife.

If your skin is being peeled, you have used too much pressure!

Run it down your calf without the push, if it's stropped well and sharpened well, it will pop hairs off.

I had a friend who one day asked me to sharpen his knife. When I finished, I took hold of his arm and told him that if the knife would shave hair, it was sharp, and proceeded to run the knife up his arm.

And cut him very nicely.

My quick thinking allowed me to hand him his knife, and tell him it appeared sharp enough for what he did.

I then pleaded an urgent appointment, and left while he stood there, watching blood oozing down his arm.

Later (like five years) we both got a good laugh out of this.
