I have some money available now that I've called off my engagement, and was able to return the ring to the jeweler. Some of the money is going into savings, some to fix my car, and bit to fund a knife. This is where my issues lies. I really like the looks of the TSF Beast, but I'm torn between buying this or making the jump to a 'benza. Just wanting some opinions. I've never owned a CRK, and though they've intrigued me, it just seems like so many people have them and the Beast is more unique. Maybe I'm out of my mind.

Thanks Y'all!

Sorry to hear about your engagement, I've been there. As far as the knife goes, I'd go for the Sebenza personally. The 21 is a great knife and worth every penny of the price. I'm not a fan of the TSF Beast, but it's purely for aesthetic reasons.

I seem to be one of the few that never got caught up in the sebenza hysteria. Don't cave to peer pressure - get what you like. It's your money, and you're the one that has to be satisfied with the purchase. (Unless, of course, somebody else is buying it - in which case, you should smile and be gracious)

I think I'm going to go with the beast, but before I make a decision I was wanting some input on the CF Sebenza from KnifeArt. Anyone have one or handle one, how does it compare to the regular? Havin a hard time with this. I work in an office M-F 9-5 and generally carry smaller, lightweight knives at work. Most of my collection is made of 3:~ knives.

I only have a few heavy duty knives, and I'm trying to decide if I should expand upon those or stick with the office style knives.

My office knives are:
Caly 3 CF/ZDP-189
Brous Bionic
Dragonfly ZDP-189
BM 530
LionSteel Opera
BM 585 Orange Mini-Barrage

Heavy(er) duty knives
ZT0801
DPx HEAT
Manix2 CTS-XHP
Gayle Bradley

Retired/Not being used:
Cold Steel Recon 1--pivot screw randomly fell out and is currently AWOL
PM2--blade badly chipped, haven't gotten around to resharpening it.
Brian Tighe mini Tighe Rod--Trying to sell, sitting in a drawer at work.
SOG mini X-Ray Vision--beat to hell, retired.

I don't have any TSF knives so I can't offer a comparison but my CRKs are pretty much my favorites. I have some 21s, 25s, and some Umnums. I think the Umnum is my favorite because I just love the blade shape but it edges out the 21/25 only by a tiny bit. The CF KA exclusive is amazing. Not only is it beautiful but the weight difference between it and the standard 21 is awesome (not that I would even consider it heavy). My next CRKs will be a CF Large Insingo and a CF Small 21.

Gorgon is a bit large for my tastes.

Btw, is there some advantage of going with the insingo blade?

Went with the Beast for a few reasons. 1. Price 2. I like the looks better 3. I like to support the little guy when I can, especially considering TSF is pretty much a one man show from what I can tell.

The Beast has also caught my eye, for similar reasoning. Please report back to us when you get it. I'd love to hear what you think.

Beast! Tell us how you like it.

Off topic: pics of the PM2 please. I'd be happy to fix it for you with my Wicked Edge depending on how bad it is. :)

Personally, I'd get the Sebenza, great folder. But, from your reasons mentioned above, go with the Beast.

I will tell y'all as soon as I get it. As far as the PM2 goes, the chipping isn't terrible, just small chips from the tip to about an inch down. Gonna bust the sharpmaker out tonight and fix it. Thanks for the offer, but I can do it myself. Love the knife, but since it has only cut paper I'm quite disappointed in the steel's performance. Maybe a bad heat treat or something slipped through QC.
