Guys, I need help! I was messing around with themes for my pc and sccrewed sometthing up. Everything is black. My text, my folder background, my desktop, EVERRYTHING. I can't even see the text I'm typing mnow because the text box is black and so is the text, so there will probaly bbe a lot of mistakes

What I need a kind member to do is to walk me through the steps with the keyboard to using the up, left, right, ect. key and the tab and enter keys to get back to the "classic" theme. I can get to the theme menu oin my own but cant change the theme, I ould appreciate the help greatly!!!!

Can you just right click on the desktop to get the properties window (right click on the desktop and click on properties in the menu that comes up)? Can you see the properties window if you get it up?

Nevermind, just read your post again. Even if you can get to the themes window, the arrow key doesn't work--you have to click to select the theme.

No, I sure can't, it's ALL bacl, everytthing. I can only see icons.. I can open the prop[erties menuj up, because I klnow where to click, but that's it.

Okay--does this help?

NOt really. I need to know the keystorkes (like tab, up, down, enter, ect) to navigate blindly in thast window and get my theme to the default one. i.e. Once I get into that menu, I tab to the selection thingy, hit down three times, then tab two times to get to apply, then hit enter. that's what I'm looking for.

Okay--once you're in that properties window--try this:

hit the down arrow three times (you might want to wait a few seconds as mine lags a bit)

Hit the "tab key" 2 times

Hit enter.

That gets me to my windows classic theme.

edited to add: Of course that's because mine is on "modified theme" when I go into the properties. If yours isn't on that then it's going to be a guessing game as to how many times to hit the down arrow.

Hmmm, it's not working. As soon as you open the properties menu, is that little theme box where you select the theme highlighted? Or will I have to tasb to select it?

Nope, mine is already selected so I did not have to tab to get over there. But the first couple of times I tried it, it took a long time to move after hitting the arrow. It move quicker after the first couple of tries, though.

the pull down menu w/ the themes is highlighted. just open it, push down a few times to select a different theme, then push enter.

No prob, dude--glad it worked. I know how that kinda stuff goes.

reminds me of that part in HHGTTG with the black ship with black controls on black panels and stuff.

:D

" "It's the wild colour scheme that freaks me," said Zaphod whose love affair with this ship had lasted almost three minutes into the flight, "Every time you try to operate one of these weird black controls that are labelled in black on a black background, a little black light lights up black to let you know you've done it. What is this? Some kind of galactic hyperhearse?"

The walls of the swaying cabin were also black, the ceiling was black, the seats - which were rudimentary since the only important trip this ship was designed for was supposed to be unmanned
- were black, the control panel was black, the instruments were black, the little screws that held them in place were black, the thin tufted nylon floor covering was black, and when they had lifted up a
corner of it they had discovered that the foam underlay also was black."
