Hi all. Recently I got a Veikko Hakkarainen Kullervo that forced me to be a whittling crazy.
It has super comfy handle and ideally sharp edge what I want for small fixed knife,
great performer for detailed whittling and carving than my bushcrafters.
But it is not tough naturally... I didn't know that and was stupid enough so that
I scraped rosewood, whittled stone grain inlayed wood and hit its edge to plastic with it.
Of course it deformed multiplly, it's my terrible fault and/but I wondered that
how do other experienced users use this kind of sharpeness-dedicated small scandi knives.

Have you tried adding a micro-bevel?

I removed secondary bebel when it arrived, and took a slight micro-bevel after sharpening.
But it might not be enough compared to Roselli carpenter from your thread.
Great pics and writeup to learn for me. Thank you for your help.

****EDIT****

Found these video while considering "What kind of tasks should I set up for?"

From my reading the very acute bevels on these scandinavian knives are suited for soft wood and hard vegetables (rutabagas, turnips). I use mine for trimming leather and cutting soft wood. It should work for cleaning fish and game as long as you avoid the hard bones.

Thank you for sharing your experience.
Now I'm watching these videos and surprising that other lots of "hard tasks" were primary done with axes,
and puukkos were used like as minimum basic EDC for every villagers. I hope I would learn from these.
