Hey guys, I just wanted to drop in and say hello. Of all the forums I have visited here on wonderful BF, I must say the sense of humor here is the greatest. Now on to what really matters..,

I got my first Becker about a month ago, a BK11 from a Surplus store. I hadn't actually handled a Becker up until that point, and once it was in my hands I had no choice but to purchase it (at a highly inflated price) because it just felt so right. I since have added a TDI clip and some micarta scales and don't go anywhere without it :)

Today I ordered a BK9 and I could not be more excited about it. When I first came here to BF I couldn't understand what all the hype was about. Now that the smoke has cleared, I am anxious to get the 9 and put it to use next weekend when I go camping, and hopefully post a few pics when I'm back.

It seems you all have a tightly knit community of Beckerheads, for me it has all just begun. Maybe one day I'll stand among you!

Ps the BK 16 is already beckoning my wallet...I'm sure that it will soon oblige!

The 16 would be a great next choice or the 17 But either way Soon you must get a bk2.

Thanks fellas. I actually just ordered some micarta scales for that bk9...
What is the difference between the 2 and 22? I'm confused looking at them back and forth online.

The 9 is a hell of a nice blade. You're gonna love it. It's my most used blade.

You already started on the right track. I will have to +1 getting your hands on a 2. Then a 16,3,4,5,7,10,12,14,24...until you have them all.
 
Ya know, seeing as the amount of knives I have already is borderline excessive (haha borderline, there is no line), having all the Beckers is actually a very conceivable goal.

Welcome! That 9.....is gonna rock your world. The 9 was my first Becker (thanks to these guys *cough* bigghoss) and it still gets a lot of love. Biggest knife I ever held when it first came. Pulled it out of the box, slipped off the paper blade protector......I still grin when I think about it. Worth every penny - and then some - I paid for it. I suspect you will be something OTHER than disappointed.
 
Welcome. You will love the 9. And the BK-16 that you are thinking about is the sweet spot in the Becker lineup.
 
Taught my teen to baton with my newly purchased 16 today, he thought it was the coolest. He was very proud to be wearing it while doing yard work. We got a lot done today.

Every time I see someone getting a nine it makes me want to go out and get one even though Ive had one ordered at Spark's store for a month. I know as soon as I go get one elsewhere I'll get that call saying mine is in at One Stop. Ugh
 
I hope you get yours soon! I couldn't help but order it on 2-day...I need my knife now! Lol I wanted to make sure I have it for camping this weekend.

Elrond I saw that you just got your 9, the pics made me even more excited!
And Mr, Becker, my thanks for a wonderful blade design and a warm welcome. I wish I had saved some money, although I'm sure I could afford the trip to Blade I don't know how much I would have left to buy anything and I recently took care of some debt so I'm trying to be a good grown up and keep my priorities straight. :/
I hope to be invited to the next gathering, I have a lot to learn and I definitely missed a great opportunity at the grind in you all just had.
Trailbum, I heard of your generosity in giving away those sheaths, how awesome!
Thank you for the warm welcomes all, and I will post pics, indeed.

I'm going to be chop chop chopping this weekend I hope, my friends uncle has 12 acres, I'll have plenty to chop away at I'm sure.

Since I'm not going to Blade I'll be sure to pick up either the 2 or the 16 (or both!). Which sheath would you all recommend on the 2?

It's possible this didn't sound exactly how it was meant to. But you get the idea.

Sounds like you're doing it right! and I'll bet that you love the 16 like it's your only liver, I know I do mine, lol.
Proper care and feeding of a Becker is to remember to get them dirty at least once a month and then tuck them in to their sheathes with a gentle "until next time, little buddy" :D :D :D
