Just out of idle curiousity, I've been on a Japanese style kick lately... who's making small to midsized aikuchis lately? I like classic designs with cord wrap and clay tempered carbon steel, but new designs with micarta or G10 and stainless are cool, too.

Links appreciated.

Hello Magic Man,

I have had a long-term interest in Japanese knives. I recently discovered the following link: WWW.Japananeseknifedirect.com. Some really nice pieces from Japanese makers.

I have always wanted one of Nealy's Aikuchis with 3.5 inch blade. I don't have one yet but I did pick up the Boker version in 440c. I had money set aside for the Nealy but then I discovered the Brock Combat Options (WWW.Brockblades.com) and ordered it instead. I am such an impatient person.

I also have the Cold Steel Master Tanto which is a beautiful knife.

I also like the Spyderco Lum design.

Are you looking for a production or custom? Oops, I guess the answer would be custom given where you possted.

In that we have a common interest I'll be interested to see the other responses you get.

Thanks guys. I was actually inspired on this because I saw a really sweet one over on the Toxic forum that was translucent G10 handled, mirror polished, with GLOW IN THE DARK liners! How cool is that! Plus the design in general is aesthetically pleasing to me. I like the modern ones best, I think.
