Its been several years since I have tried a knife using an assbackwards piece of sambar stag for the handle. This one has a 5 1/4" 1084 blade. This is the first blade that I've hand forged since April. It made me feel good to find out I could still do the forging. Wrought iron fittings and a two ply cowhide sheath. 10" overall. If you would like to see some of the photo's from when I was putting this one together please let me know.

cool Ray! Love the lightning bolt, and that knife is very shapely.

Ray....Great looking piece and the sheath is really nice. Glad you still got it !
Any other photos would be great.....

Looks great, yes please for the work in progress.

I started taking pictures after I had the stag handled drilled. Its mostly shots of the fittings changing shape. Most the work on the fittings was done with my belt grinder. A couple band saw cuts. An abrasive wheel on a drill press comes in handy for making the grooves.

Thats beautiful Ray, even with the backwards handle!

Ray, you make some of the finest looking knives I've ever seen.

And you have some of the biggest, fattest hands I've ever seen :D
