Yes, I have seen other "styles" as well. As documentation does exist regarding their trading with other cultures, no doubt that the Ainu utilized whatever style of sword they were able to acquire. To me that accounts for the various styles. They were very good wood workers also, so once their newly acquired swords were remounted in the Ainu tradition, they essentially became Ainu swords.
