So, mainly as a hobby, I got myself a vinyl cutter and a heat press so I could make decals and T-shirts. Then I learned I could also use it to make templates for etching glass. I was using Armour-etch, which is an acid (I believe) based way of altering the glass. I wasn't thrilled with the results so I picked up an air eraser (somewhere between an airbrush and a sand blaster I guess...) and I was much happier with the results. Then I tried it on a stainless steel Yeti (OK, actually an Rtic) and I was super stoked with how well it worked. I had it in the back of my mind to try it on some titanium knife scales some day, as my searches for info came up empty. Well, today was that day. And it works.
The darker area is where I actually used the air eraser, the shiny area was masked off. I believe besides being able to use it for putting designs on the scales I should in theory be able to do my own "spa treatment" to clean up snail trails and stuff.
Kinda rad.
