Have been interested in the Air Lite for a while. Anybody own one for a good length of time and used it hard…if so, how did it hold up? Any blade play, etc? I know it’s not meant to be used like a Recon 1. But wondering how you like it. Supposed to be extremely lightweight, which is great for edc. Only complaint I’ve noticed is that a lot of people feel it’s overpriced. Thanks in advance.

Have one, but haven't used it hard. I agree the price seems a bit high for what it is, but what I like about it is that it is more compact than other CS 3.5" folders.

It’s definitely not worth $80 IMHO…if it was available for $50 I might consider it. Below $50, then I may grab both blade styles

Think I got mine for $65 or so. The Mini Recon is around $50, so I can see it being a bit more than that. But it should also definitely cost less than the Code 4.

I paid about 65.00 also. Solid lock up. Pretty sturdy for its weight. AUS 10 steel is ok.
I get the impression that the triad lock makes this knife stronger than similar sized Civvi folders that I ve bought recently with comparable steel. The Civivi s were about 10.00 cheaper. I like the Civivis but I like the Air Lite more.

Ive carried and used one alot i think its a nicely finished well made knife . Ive seen them for 50-60$ if you look well worth the price .Ive cut alot of plastic straps w it still looks fine . Funny thing people dropping 150 for that Demko 20.5 same blade material but smaller and griv ex scales but people bark at this knife at 80.00 lets face it that 20.5 is way overpriced for what it is the airlite is at least a nice finished g10 very solid and a nice shaped blade too

Regarding Air Lites being overpriced at 85.00, compared to the old prices on other Cold Steel folders, that may be the case. But compared to other quality brands of folders, maybe not overpriced. 88.00 for a Delica with a 3 inch blade and frn handle or 85.00 for the Air Lite with a 3.5 inch blade and g10.

Buy Code 4 in S35VN
Those Code 4’s are Sweet! Thanks for the replies everyone. I’m starting to hate CS now…promised myself I’d get a Recon 1 (in each blade shape) and that would be it. Now my list is growing longer. I tend to purchase knives in “bursts”…a couple at a time and then have a 1-2 yr gap before getting any more.

I know your pain :^)
But that Code 4 is like older CS'
Recon 1 is "to much" for me
To heavy, to square, to beefy, to everything ...
I'm comparing to my 1-gen Large Vovager (same size as Recon 1)
and by my thougths - Recon 1 is simply inferior [anyway great knife]
But it's only me ...

I've had mine for about two years, big fan of it, consistently gets carried and not afraid to put it to work. I don't love the clip, but everything else about it is pretty stellar, AUS 10 is a great user steel, sharpens up quick the edge retention isn't an issue. Considering the competition I think its priced really well, there isn't much in this class of knife I'd call a comparable value.

One thing I don't care for is how close the thumbstud is to the scale when closed...makes it a bit more difficult to open. Either add a scallop, make the stud longer, or make the finger groove more rounded to create more space to get your thumb into.

Pretty cool. I had seen one where they reshaped the finger groove like that, but left the stud.
