My wife rides her mountain bike 3 times a week in the summer and she needs a new bike pump. I'm thinking a floor pump, because she generally is not out for more than a couple of hours and doesn't ride a long way from home or in the woods, etc. My understanding is that while most pumps will do the job, with a mountain bike you are looking for a high volume low pressure pump.

What would be a good, (relatively) inexpensive bike pump? It basically will be getting light duty, but we do like quality.

Thanks.

low end anything is nothing but headaches. bought a floor pump with a dial gauge up top about 10 years ago and its still going strong. you get what you pay for

Yeah, I guess I don't know what low end is for pumps. The quick searches I've done on line show the bulk of them from about 25-50 or so, not that big of a range, but I don't know what's good and what isn't. What kind is your?

at work right now so cant tell you the brand. just googled bike floor pumps and the Topeak looks close to it, same color and the gauge is at the top

Always been a fan of Blackburn pumps. Have an old Track Pump 1 which has held up fantastic, and even if you luck isn't so good I've delt with their customer service a couple of times for various stuff and they have always been freindly and prompt on warranty issues. Really though, any decent bike shop will have plenty of good options for you, I'd recommend swinging into your local bike shop.
