I've owned an RWS model 24C since I was 12. Back in the day I was a crow's worst nightmare. Someday I'd like to get something a little more fun to shoot. I'd like something gas powered by something larger than a 12gram. Semi auto is also a plus. Not really a limit on price, I don't mind saving for something nice.

If money isn't important, you may want to look at these beauties from Röhm, which will hit the market soon at around 1000€:

That Logan 16 is nice.

If you are looking to get into a PCP (precharged pneumatic) you are looking at a significant investment, but good air guns are not cheap. You might want to browse at www.straightshooters.com which has both a retail store and a forum.

Not trying to steal the thread but I have always wondered this.

Are the (seemingly) cheap full auto bb guns that they have at the circus available? From what I remember when I was a kid they did not have the best fit and finish but used compressed air and shot actual BB's in full auto and were not all that accurate.

I would think this could provide some entertainment or a good way to release some frustration if you had a decent trap and some paper targets. Plus a box of 5000 BBs is pretty cheap.

I would not really be looking for quality or accuracy just something that doesn't break every time you pick it up.

Anything like this out there?

Thanks!!!

Although I don't think they are semiauto, the Air Force air rifles are fairly well regarded.

Generally not, and they are surprisingly expensive when they are.

Discounting airsoft, the Drozd is the only affordable full auto BB gun on the market.

I went with a pre-charged pneumatic air rifle last year. The one I picked was a FX Cyclone. I like this air rifle a lot because of its performance (+900 FPS .22 cal pellet) and the beautiful walnut stock. I like the 8 shot magazines as it make shooting a bit more convenient but the magazines are expensive ($25/magazine). Another PCP air rifle I wouldn't mind acquiring is the Air Arms S400 sidelever. Pyramidair is the place to order your air gun needs. BTW, if you do go with PCP air guns, startup costs is quite expensive but after that you only have to have the correct air connector if you have different brands of PCP air guns. Have fun shopping around, good luck, and be safe.

So I have been looking around the internet and the drozd really does seem to be about the only option. I would get one except for the 30 round magazine. That would be half the fun is just non stop action (hence the auto). I could live with a 100 but 30 makes it a no-go for me.

So how do the carny folk get them? What if I was in the circus or fair and wanted to have an auto BB gun game? They exist so they have to be able to be purchased somewhere. Right?

I also saw a pretty sick full auto mini-gun on you tube. Surely a factory makes these and they are not home made. Now I'm really wanting one of these cause it just seems like a blast. Any more thoughts?

Although the manufacturers seem to fade in and out of existence, some appear to currently be made by http://shootingstargames.com/ .

They don't appear to sell the guns individually, but it can't hurt to give them a call. Let us know what they say.

The minigun was probably made by Piper's Precision Products.

They go for somewhere around $5,000.

They also have a hand cranked Gatling gun for around $800. Maybe you could attach a drill motor to it or something.

If you have a decent air compressor, you could try to build a BB machinegun. There's plans for a couple different types out there.

i had a full auto BB gun 20+ yrs ago, it was powered by R12 freon cans, i dont suppose it would be very cheap anymore with the expense/scarcity of R12 lol, but in the early '80s it was a lotta fun and R12 was ~.79 cents a can, i loaned the thing to someone and never got it back, IIRC it only cost like $24.95 or so, it worked ok i suppose, it certainly didnt have the "oomph" a good pump up BB gun would have but it did really spray 'em out, easily penetrated tin cans and such, it went thru a large tube of BB's pretty fast.
