Ok boys and girls. I'd love a bb gun, but seeing as they're illegal ( :jerkit: ) here, I'm going to get an airsoft gun. Which, to my knowledge, is legal, as long as I leave the orange thingy on the end. Question is, anyone ever use this one: http://www.kapowwe.com/Merchant2/me...egory_Code=airsoft-sniper-rifles&Store_Code=R . It was recommended to me by a friend who knows his stuff and would not steer me wrong. So, any takers?

BB guns are illegal in New Jersey?

I didn't expect to hear that.

Its a piece of junk. The thing will have no accuracy, I'd be surprised if you could hit a pie plate from 15 feet away, and will probably break in the first couple times of using it. Also nearly everything on the gun will be plastic, the aluminum barrel will be way to wide, non-free floating, and the hop-up (if it has any) will be a piece of junk. To get a real airsoft sniper weapon you are talking about $300(minimum) for the gun alone, not including heavy bbs, gas (if needed), ect.

Look at reputable companies like Tokyo Marui and Classic Army, I'm not sure if they make sniper rifles as I was into assault rifles. I would give a forum but most of the members hadn't reached puberty yet, making it too unpleasant.

Yeah, everything fun is illegal in NJ. All fireworks except pop pops and sparklers, etc. Need a firearm license and, apparently, a handgun purchase permit to buy airguns.

I don't plan on using the gun for competition, just plinking cans. And if people are stupid enough to toilet paper my house, well, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. I was thinking I wanted a Daisy, maybe a Red Ryder, but I need to get to Pa. for that.

I have to agree with spyder10, I had some gas powered pistols that were about $100 each and they broke after about 3 months of casual use. If you are going to get one get a good one.

That is so sad!

I mostly grew up in North Jersey and things weren't always like that, atleast not back then. That's much worse than even liberal New Zealand is, where I live now. Fireworks are OK, and BB guns too if you're over 18. No permits nothing.

When they said they're coming for your guns they meant ALL your guns, even your toys.:D

Yea, Jersey is right on par with CA. as far a communist style restrictions go.

NO handgun carry except LE., no slingshots, fireworks, automatic knives, pepper spray, stun guns, no fixed blade carry whatsoever.

Rifle permit to buy anything that shoots a metal projectile, including a BB gun and pellet handguns are a total No-No. Airsoft was off limits until just recently.

But look at the bright side, we have the highest property taxes and auto insurance in the nation........ Oh, wait thats yet another down side.

Well, at least were the most heavily populated( read OVERpopulated) state in the nation........ Oh yea, thats another downer.

ya got the "sopranos" in north jersey though, right?? and whats left of the devacavella (sp?) crime family in real life.

Thats way too cheap to be any good. I have a fairly good airsoft pistol. (theres a picture of it in the firearms thread if youre interested) that cost me the equivalent of about $180 just for a pistol

I have a Thompson 1928 Chicago Typewriter (submachinegun with drum magazine) that is an exact clone of a real one even down to serial numbers and caliber....It was about 150 and shoots real well as I was expecting it not to be very accurate. It shoots only 20 mm BBs and don't let anyone tell you they don't sting like hell. I have hit targets 100 feet away with no problem.

Soft air guns can be very dangerous. In a petrol queue in Harare my son (4yrs) leant out the back window of the car and zapped the biggest Shona cyclist I have ever seen, suddenly the angriest.
